STRATAFCCOMPANION
Message from the Owner & Maintainers

A note about permissions and transparency

I want to apologize for previously configuring STRATA’s login authorization to request ESI permissions that were intended for a separate feature and were not needed by the original STRATA FC Companion build. Those permissions should not have been requested during login. That was my mistake, and the authorization request has since been reviewed and corrected to match the features that actually use it.

STRATA is an independently built community project, and roughly 60% of its development has been assisted by AI-driven, “vibe-coded” workflows under human direction and review. AI can make mistakes, and so can the people building with it. Neither is an excuse to avoid responsibility. We will keep reviewing our work, correcting problems openly, and being as transparent with the community as security and operational privacy allow.

Thank you to everyone testing STRATA, questioning its behavior, and helping us make it safer and better.

  • Welcome is a single read-only onboarding guide. General now provides a dedicated conversation channel, while Help and Feedback explain the details useful for support and reproducible reports.
  • Members joining through the Community Hub invitation automatically receive the scoped STRATA FC Beta Tester role and see only the Companion community area plus the server Rules channel.

Website

  • Added a public Community Hub page with a permanent Discord invitation, channel guide, role guide, and operational-safety reminders.
  • Community links now appear in public product navigation and the standard legal footer.
Battle-report presentation

WarBeacon-Valued After-Action Reports

Finished STRATA reports now put the battle’s economic result, external report, and commander review directly into the snapshot and its Discord preview.

RELEASE 2026.07.30.1

Shareable Battle Results · 2026.07.30

Snapshots

  • Authenticated and public after-action reports show friendly ISK lost, enemy ISK lost, total battle value, loss counts, and combat efficiency.
  • The linked WarBeacon report now appears directly beneath the totals, before the activity timeline and commander notes.

Link previews

  • Each shared report provides a report-specific title and concise duration, pilot, friendly-loss, enemy-loss, total-value, and commander-notes summary.
  • Discord receives a generated 1200×630 battle card with the actual report title, loss values, and included ship-loss composition instead of the generic login image.

Evidence

  • STRATA stores only a sanitized summary of WarBeacon’s verified team totals and uses faction evidence to identify the friendly side even after an FC edits team order.
  • If WarBeacon valuation is unavailable, the report falls back to the immutable values frozen from stored killmail provider evidence and clearly marks incomplete totals.
Battle-report integration

Adopt Saved WarBeacon Corrections

WarBeacon saves an edited report under a new report address. STRATA now provides a verified handoff that makes that corrected report the operation’s current WarBeacon link.

RELEASE 2026.07.29.8

WarBeacon Corrections · 2026.07.29

Workflow

  • After correcting teams or other report details in WarBeacon, save the report there and paste its newly created report URL into STRATA.
  • The replacement control is available in the live Battle Report panel and the authenticated STRATA operation snapshot.

Verification

  • STRATA accepts only canonical HTTPS report links for the configured WarBeacon host.
  • The server retrieves the saved report directly from WarBeacon and confirms it still contains every killmail included in the corresponding immutable STRATA revision.

Consistency

  • Once verified, the corrected WarBeacon URL replaces the original external link in the live operation, saved fleet history, authenticated snapshot, and public report projection.
  • The immutable STRATA revision remains unchanged; only its external WarBeacon reference is updated.
Report sharing refinement

Clear Private and Public Report Views

FCs can create, preview, copy, and revoke a separate anonymous report URL without confusing it with the authenticated immutable snapshot.

RELEASE 2026.07.29.7

After-Action Sharing · 2026.07.29

Privacy

  • Public report URLs include only commander notes explicitly selected for the public report.
  • Private and legacy Organization notes remain visible only in the authorized internal snapshot and are excluded server-side from the anonymous projection.

Sharing

  • The internal snapshot can create an Unlisted or Public link, copy the public URL, preview it separately, and revoke access.
  • Public-report notes no longer carry a redundant “Report eligible” label in the finished snapshot.

Clarity

  • The former generic “Warnings” badge now reads “Needs review” and explains the number and severity of report data checks requiring attention.
  • New FC notes use two clear destinations: Internal or Public report. Existing immutable revisions and legacy Organization notes remain preserved.
Fleet workflow guide

End Fleet Assistant

FCs can follow a compact four-step guide before entering STRATA’s protected ending and final-collection choices.

RELEASE 2026.07.29.6

Fleet Conclusion · 2026.07.29

Guidance

  • The assistant explains killmail review, current revision status, bounded final collection, and the saved post-fleet editing workflow.
  • Live unresolved-candidate and saved-revision information gives each FC context for the current fleet.
  • Previous, Next, Cancel, and Continue to ending choices controls work on desktop and mobile.

Revisions

  • The guide explains that revisions are immutable snapshots and that later corrections require a newly generated revision.
  • FCs are directed to review teams, killmails, assignments, objectives, and notes before finalizing or sharing.

Preference

  • FCs may stop showing the assistant automatically. The preference is saved to their authenticated STRATA profile across browsers and devices.
  • The guide remains available manually from Menu → Ending Guide.
Mobile usability fix

Clear Notices and Touch Context Actions

The live command workspace now keeps transient notices, contextual actions, and resizable tool content from obstructing one another on phone-sized screens.

RELEASE 2026.07.29.5

Mobile Workspace · 2026.07.29

Notices

  • Success and error notices include an immediate dismiss button and automatically clear after four seconds.
  • Notifications remain readable without intercepting unrelated map controls.

Context actions

  • Desktop right-click and mobile touch-and-hold menus render in a dedicated topmost layer above every command window.
  • A normal tap selects; holding for roughly half a second opens contextual actions. Moving the finger cancels the hold for uninterrupted panning.

Responsive tools

  • Command sheets respect the legal footer, live timeline, phone safe area, and dynamic viewport height.
  • Nested forms, fields, tabs, and results remain constrained to their sheet instead of overflowing its border.
  • Initial mobile map fitting retains a readable node scale; users can still pan and pinch to inspect the full route.
Mobile interaction fix

Touch Map and Command Tool Sheets

Phone and tablet users can move and zoom the operations map while reliably opening every fleet-command tool inside the visible browser viewport.

RELEASE 2026.07.29.4

Mobile Command Map · 2026.07.29

Gestures

  • Drag empty map space with one finger to pan.
  • Use two fingers to pinch, zoom, and reposition the map around the gesture center.
  • Tapping a system remains a selection action instead of accidentally dragging its node.

Fleet tools

  • Fleet, FC Tools, Universe Intel, FC Utilities, Battle Report, FC Radio, and Crew View controls remain visible and horizontally scrollable in the mobile header.
  • Opening a tool restores it as the single active bottom sheet within the phone viewport; its body scrolls independently.
  • Minimizing a mobile tool returns it to its header control instead of stacking several collapsed windows over the map.
Command workflow fix

FC Notes in Generated Reports

FC Notes now state exactly where they are recorded and appear in the next immutable report revision generated for that fleet.

RELEASE 2026.07.29.3

Command Notes · 2026.07.29

Clarity

  • The FC Notes panel identifies the current fleet timeline and next generated report revision as the note destination.
  • Visibility choices explain whether a note remains internal or is eligible for a published report.

Reports

  • New report revisions immutably capture each FC Note’s text, author, EVE timestamp, and visibility.
  • Authenticated internal reports show captured notes; anonymous reports expose only notes marked Report eligible.
  • Existing immutable revisions remain unchanged. Generate a new revision to include notes added after an earlier report was generated.
Experience update

Mobile and Tablet Command Support

STRATA FC Companion now has a project-wide responsive layer designed for practical fleet preparation, review, and crew participation from smaller screens.

RELEASE 2026.07.29.2

Responsive Command · 2026.07.29

Live fleet map

  • The map remains a full-screen workspace on phones while opened Fleet Composition, FC Tools, Universe Intel, FC Utilities, radio, Crew View, and battle-report panels become independently scrollable bottom sheets.
  • Desktop panel positions and sizes remain untouched; mobile presentation ignores desktop geometry only while the narrow viewport is active.
  • Map controls and command navigation use touch-sized targets and compact horizontal tool strips.

Product pages

  • Login, fleet home and history, preparation, Crew View, reports, updates, access control, organization pages, tables, forms, and navigation now collapse cleanly for phone and tablet widths.
  • Wide operational tables remain available through deliberate horizontal scrolling instead of forcing unreadably narrow columns.

Accessibility

  • Mobile controls use larger touch targets, dialogs stay within the visible viewport, and reduced-motion preferences suppress nonessential animation.
  • Small-screen navigation and context menus remain keyboard-accessible and avoid rendering outside the viewport.
Reliability & privacy update

Fleet Conclusions, Command Actions, and Scope Review

This release closes several command-workflow reliability gaps and further reduces the EVE permissions requested from ordinary STRATA FC Companion users.

RELEASE 2026.07.29.1

Reliability & Permission Review · 2026.07.29

Fleet lifecycle

  • Finish Tracking remains available while an operation is in Final Collection.
  • Repeated ESI fleet-inaccessible or fleet-changed observations can no longer restart or extend the original final-collection deadline.
  • Ended operations stop authoritative polling and retain their roster, timeline, and review evidence in Past Fleets.

Command fixes

  • Fleet MOTD actions now resolve the latest valid tracking session and report safe errors when an upstream response is not JSON.
  • Updated command-map assets are cache-versioned so newly deployed controls load without stale browser behavior.
  • Reinforcement Briefing can assemble current route, jump-support, D-scan, and Local results into a reviewable copy or EVE Mail draft.

EVE permissions

  • Saved-fitting read and write permissions have been removed from the Companion authorization request.
  • The ordinary user bundle now contains nine current operational permissions. publicData is implicit and is not sent as a requested scope.
  • Character-wallet access remains isolated to the server-owned sponsor credential and is not requested from ordinary users.

Validation

  • Regression coverage now protects final-collection deadlines, visible finish controls, MOTD behavior, OAuth scope construction, and safe response handling.
Intelligence feature

Universe Intel: Nearby Combat at a Glance

Public combat activity now appears in a dedicated command-map panel, ranked by calculated gate distance from the Fleet Boss.

RELEASE 2026.07.29

Universe Intel · 2026.07.29

Features

  • Near Fleet, Region, and All views present recent cached public combat activity without adding unrelated kills to the fleet battle report.
  • Official universe topology provides gate-distance badges from the current Fleet Boss system, with closest activity kept at the top as new events arrive.
  • System, ship, victim, final-blow, and killmail targets link directly to the appropriate DOTLAN or zKillboard view.
  • Victim ships and final-blow identities include EVE imagery where the public event provides a resolvable identity.

Improvements

  • The feed automatically re-ranks during live projection refreshes and places unknown or unreachable distances after calculated results.
  • Context menus remain above draggable command panels and offer relevant external destinations without exposing tokens, private links, or fleet-only evidence.

Layout

  • New command workspaces open with a compact panel arrangement that keeps fleet composition, FC tools, Universe Intel, communications, Crew View, radio, and live reporting immediately available.
  • After the first load, each user’s moved, resized, minimized, and visibility choices continue to be remembered in that browser.
Reliability update

Smarter ESI Traffic, Same Live Command View

STRATA now coordinates its fleet observations more efficiently while preserving the responsive command experience FCs rely on.

RELEASE 2026.07.28.1

Service Reliability · 2026.07.28

Improvements

  • Fleet and character observations now reuse EVE-provided results for their official cache lifetime instead of requesting unchanged data again.
  • Characters under active fleet tracking use one authoritative observation path, eliminating overlapping background checks.

Experience

  • The command dashboard continues refreshing from STRATA’s live projection, so map, roster, ship, and location views remain responsive without unnecessary upstream traffic.

Safeguards

  • Existing outage backoff, rate-limit handling, token protection, and isolated server-side processing remain in place.
Command update

Live Command Responsiveness

Fleet movement and command information now arrive faster, while the map and Crew View remain composed as the operation grows.

RELEASE 2026.07.28

Patch Notes for 2026.07.28

Features

  • Crew View presents route alternatives and Jump Support in separate, responsive tabs.
  • The unified FC workspace keeps D-scan, Local analysis, route planning, jump support, command utilities, Crew View, radio, and battle capture within reach.

Improvements

  • Active fleet composition and system movement reach the command map substantially faster while retaining safe ESI limits and outage backoff.
  • Visited-system mapping uses compact nodes, saved positioning, security colors, route controls, and operational context actions.
Fleet collaboration

Crew View & After-Action Reporting

Share only the operational picture your crew needs, then preserve the evidence and report when the fleet concludes.

RELEASE 2026.07.27

Patch Notes for 2026.07.27

Features

  • FCs can create revocable Crew View links and select which fleet status, routes, radio, MOTD, Local, D-scan, composition, pilot, and combat information is shared.
  • Completed operations remain attached to the authenticated character for later evidence and report review.
  • Completed fleets can produce streamlined STRATA summaries with activity highlights, notes, combat evidence, and linked battle reports.

Safeguards

  • Kill and loss candidates are matched against observed fleet membership and attendance evidence before review and inclusion.

Beta release

STRATA FC Companion Moves to the Web

The original desktop alpha evolved into a standalone web-based fleet-command workspace with durable operations and controlled reporting.

BETA 2026.07.22

Web Beta · 2026.07.22

Platform

  • STRATA transitioned from its native desktop alpha into an all-web experience available through EVE SSO.
  • The web beta launched as an isolated fleet-command product with its own accounts, permissions, audit records, storage, and operational boundary.
  • Fleet evidence can be reviewed, assigned to teams, versioned into reproducible report revisions, and published or exported under controlled visibility.
  • Authorized users retain fallback correction workflows for missing participants, killmails, teams, timeline events, and reports.

Security

  • The application launched through HTTPS while database, cache, management, and internal service ports remained private.
Alpha origin

The First STRATA FC Companion Alpha

STRATA began alpha testing in December 2025 as a native desktop companion focused on practical fleet-command assistance.

ALPHA · DECEMBER 2025

Desktop Alpha · December 2025

Origin

  • The first private alpha established STRATA’s fleet-command companion direction as a native desktop client.
  • Testing and operational lessons from the desktop alpha informed the later unified web workspace.

Evolution

  • The desktop experiment was succeeded by the July 2026 web beta so commanders and approved crew could use the platform without installing the original client.
